  8. I recently had the chance to test the new ULTRA COMPRESSOR II against the
  9. latest versions of ARJ (2.41) and PKZIP (2.04g).  Using maximum compression
  10. on all tests, here is a summary of my findings:

  34. As you can see, Ultra Compressor II had the best compression in these tests,
  35. except while compressing .GIF files. It was also the fastest compressor.  I
  36. am a devoted ARJ fan, especially due to the fact that ARJ lets you use multi-
  37. ple disk volumes so you can back up large programs or your whole hard disk
  38. while ARJ prompts you to put the next backup disk in the drive.  Unfortunately,
  39. Ultra Compressor II does not seem to have that capability (as far as I can
  40. tell).  I will continue to test these three compression programs and post my
  41. results on this board.
